Senior Hunter Epson leads the way with a 12th-place showing after finishing 3-under par

LIHUE, Kauai –
On the final day of the John A. Burns Intercollegiate, Long Beach State fired its lowest score (285) to finish 12th after shooting 11-over par for a score of 875. The Beach were the highest finisher among all four competing Big West teams.
Texas A&M won the tournament with a 19-under for a score of 845, while Sam Choi of New Mexico was the individual medalist with a 206 for 10-under par.

Senior Hunter Epson was the top finisher for the Beach as he shot a 68 for four-under par on the final day of action to move into a tie for 12th place. He finished the tournament shooting a 213 for 3-under par. Epson had a solid final round as he sunk six birdies, three of which came on consecutive holes (12th, 13th, and 14th).

Freshman Tripp Morris posted his best score in the final round as he shot a 70 for 2-under par to move up seven spots (T30th). Morris fired seven birdies in the final round including three in a row on holes 4, 5, and 6. He finished with a 1-over par after shooting 217 in the tournament.

On the final day, Clay Seeber, a freshman out of Newport Beach, Calif., shot a 74 for 2-over, while freshman Isaac Rodea fired a 75 for 3-over, while freshman Owen Avrit posted his lowest score of the tournament with a 73 for 1-over. The trio of Seeber, Rodea, and Avrit finished the three-round tournament with scores of 1-over, 5-over, and 10-over.

Long Beach State will be back in action on Monday, March 9 at the Lamkin San Diego Classic. The two-day tournament will conclude on Tuesday, March 10.
