
LBSU Men’s Golf Travels to Kauai for John A. Burns Intercollegiate

The Beach will take part in the 44th annual John A. Burns Intercollegiate on Feb. 20 - 22
LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Long Beach State men's golf team is back in action at the 44th Annual John A. Burns Intercollegiate in Lihue, Kauai this weekend. The tournament, which is hosted by the University of Hawaii begins on Thursday, Feb. 20 and will conclude on Saturday, Feb. 22.
The three-day tournament will feature 21 teams including four Big West teams in Cal State Fullerton, UC Irvine, Hawaii, and Long Beach State. The Beach will play 18 holes each day at the Wailua Golf Course on the island of Kauai beginning at 8 a.m. on Thursday.
The Beach will send a solid roster into the tournament in Clay Seeber, Hunter Epson, Owen Avrit, Isaac Rodea, and Trip Morris. Seeber, a freshman out of Newport Beach, Calif., was the Beach's top finisher at the Arizona Intercollegiate. He made his collegiate debut firing a 215 for two-over par to finish in the top 20.
Epson, a senior from Long Beach, Calif., was LBSU's top finisher in two of the Beach's four Fall Tournaments, including winning the Nick Watney Invitational with a 13-under par showing.
Avrit who is in his rookie season at the Beach had a solid Fall season as well finishing as a co-medalist in a four-way tie for first at the Husky Invitational in his collegiate.
