Long Beach State Men’s Golf Finishes in Eighth at the Arizona Intercollegiate

Clay Seeber was the Beach’s top finisher with a two-over par to tie for 19th place
Final Results
TUCSON, Ariz. – The Long Beach State men's golf team finished the final round at the Arizona Intercollegiate strong as the Beach moved up two spots to place eighth at the tournament which was held at the Sewailo Golf Club.
No. 11 Arizona won the tournament shooting 21-under par, while No. 12 Baylor took second with 12-under par, and No. 17 Washington placed third shooting even with par.
The Beach opened the day shooting 15-over par and in 10th place, but had a solid final round as Long Beach State shaved a stroke off to shoot one-under par to finish eighth (+14).
Leading the way for the Beach was freshman Clay Seeber who fired a 70 for two-under par in the final round with three birdies on the sixth, seventh, and ninth holes, respectively. Seeber finished in a tie for 19th place in his collegiate debut.
Senior Hunter Reed and freshman Owen Avrit finished in a tie for 27th as the duo each shot four-over par. Reed shot a three-under for a 68 in the final round, while Avrit shot even with par.
Senior Hunter Epson struggled in the final round as he dropped from a tie for 21st after the second round to a tie for 31st at the end of the tournament. Epson shot three-over par on the final day to finish five-over par overall.
Long Beach State will be back in action at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate on Thursday, Feb. 20 in Lihue, Hawai'i.
