Hunter Epson leads the Beach as he is tied for 21st

TUCSON, Ariz. – After the first two rounds at the Arizona Intercollegiate, Long Beach State is in 10th place as the Beach are shooting 583 for 15-over par. Four of the 14 teams were unable to finish the second round as play was halted due to darkness.
The Arizona Intercollegiate is being held at the Sewailo Golf Course, a tough par-71 course in which only two of the teams competing are under par. Host No. 11 Arizona leads the way shooing 10-under par, while No. 12 Baylor is second while shooting four-under.
Texas El Paso (+10), ULM (+12), Washington State (+20), and New Mexico State (+30) were unable to make it through the second round and will resume action tomorrow.
The Beach fired a 291 in the first round and a 292 in the second as senior Hunter Epson was the team's top finisher with two-over par for a tie for 21st place. Epson tallied an eagle in the second round on the eighth hole as he only needed three strokes on the five-par hole.
Joining Epson with an eagle on the eighth hole was sophomore Clay Seeber who finished the first day three-over par and is tied for 28th.
Rounding out the Beach are freshman Owen Avrit who is tied for 38th while shooting four-over par, senior Hunter Reed, who is seven-over par, and sophomore Bryce Kvick who is 12-over.
