LBSU Men’s Golf Opens the Fall Season at the Husky Invitational

The Beach travel to Bremerton, Wash., for the two-day invitational hosted by the University of Washington

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Long Beach State men's golf team begins the 2019-20 season at the Husky Invitational in Bremerton, Wash., hosted by the University of Washington. The invitational begins on Monday, Sept. 16 with the first two rounds, before concluding on Tuesday, Sept. 17 with the final round.

The Husky Invitational will be held at the Golf Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Wash., on the Olympic Peninsula. The invitational is a 16-team tournament featuring the Beach, Washington State, Seattle, Gonzaga, Oregon, Santa Clara, Oregon State, Saint Mary's, San Diego, San Diego State, Boise State, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Hawaii, and host, Washington.

The Beach welcome back Big West First Team selection Hunter Epson, as well as Freshman of the Year Tyler Schafer. Additionally, Long Beach State welcomes four incoming freshman to its talented roster.

Head coach Michael Wilson returns to the Beach for his third season at the helm, after spending three seasons as an assistant coach at Washington.

Beginning his first season with Long Beach State is assistant coach Rich Gilkey who joined the Beach in July.

Long Beach State competed in the Husky Invitational last season and finished eighth as Epson had the team's best final round with a 1-under 70. Epson concluded the invitational tied for 15th.
