Long Beach State put on a solid display on Wednesday night at George Allen Field, winning 3-0 against FC Golden State over 100 minutes of play. Elysia Laramie, Nadiyah Siqueiros and Katie Pingel each scored goals for LBSU.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Beach struck early and controlled the action in a 3-0 victory on Wednesday night in a scrimmage against FC Golden State at George Allen Field. LBSU opened the scoring in the third minute as Elysia Laramie put the Beach in front, and Long Beach never looked back while outshooting the visitors, 12-6.

Laramie's goal was assisted by Katie Pingel, who played the sophomore striker into open space where she was able to lift the ball over the FCGS keeper into the back of the net.

LBSU doubled its advantage in the 29th minute as Nadiyah Siqueiros finished off a feed from Sarah Pilster to give the Beach a 2-0 lead at halftime. Pingel would find the scoresheet just before the hour mark with a shot from distance, giving the Beach a 3-0 lead. Pingel had a game-high five shots on the night, keeping four of them on frame.

Four different goalkeepers combined for a clean sheet for Long Beach State, with Ashley Seymour getting the start. Junior Marta Alemany Sanchez played the second half in goal and recorded LBSU's only save of the night, denying a one-on-one opportunity. Alemany Sanchez was one of 10 newcomers to see their first action for Long Beach State, albeit in an unofficial capacity.

Long Beach State opens the 2019 regular season on Thursday, Aug. 22 at Arizona, then opens its home schedule on Sunday, Aug. 25 against No. 4 UCLA.
