Final Results/ Day 1

AUSTIN, TEX.- Senior Kemonie Briggs and junior Raleigh Adams were the first two Long Beach State student-athletes to compete at the 2019 NCAA Track and Field Championships, both earning Honorable Mention All-American honors.

Briggs competed exclusively in the men's long jump, claiming seventh place with an outstanding performance and jump of 7.87m (25-10.00) to become a first team All-American.

The senior reached the NCAA Championships after a solid jump of 25-01.25 in the West Preliminaries rounds in Sacramento.  Briggs has had continuous success in the event with multiple wins this season to become the Men's Big West Field Athlete of the Year.

On the track, Raleigh Adams wrapped up his season and did not advance to the finals of the 110m hurdles after a tough fall in the prelims. The junior competed in a total of four events this season, qualifying for the West Preliminaries with a time of 13.83 and breaking the 40-year-old school record with an outstanding personal-best of 13.59.

Long Beach State has two more student-athletes competing in the Track and Field National Championships, as senior Courtne' Davis will run in the prelims of 100m dash on Thursday. Senior Bria Palmer will compete in the women's high jump scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 8 and will be televised live on ESPN3.
