Women’s Golf Battles Rainy Conditions on Day Two of NCAA Regional

Long Beach State withstood a lengthy rain delay on Tuesday that pushed back tee times nearly five hours at Forest Akers West Golf Course in East Lansing, Mich., but all the teams were able to get through the second round, setting up the final 18 holes on Wednesday.
EAST LANSING, Mich. – After waiting out a rain delay which lasted nearly five hours, Long Beach State battled through wet conditions during Tuesday's second round at the East Lansing Regional. LBSU was expecting to tee off at 10 a.m. ET in round two but didn't get started until 2:45 p.m. ET as the field waited out the rain.
Senior Haley Tygret had the best round of the day for Long Beach State, shooting a 3-over round of 75. The Big West individual champion started her round on the 13th hole after the round was shifted to a shotgun start. She quickly birdied the 14th hole before following that with back-to-back birdies. Tygret also birdied No. 4 to finish the round with a pair of birdies in tough conditions. Tygret moved up 11 spots on the player leaderboard with her performance on Tuesday.
After Tygret, junior Euna Pak shot a 78 on Tuesday and remains LBSU's top scorer in the tournament. Pak did not record a birdie on Tuesday and was 3-over on both the front and back nine.
The Beach have 18 holes left to play on Wednesday and are scheduled to tee off shortly after 10 a.m. ET from the 10th tee. LBSU will play with Harvard and IUPUI and live scoring will be provided by GolfStat.com.
