Beach Women’s Golf Concludes NCAA Regional With Team’s Best Round

Long Beach State wrapped up the East Lansing Regional on Wednesday, and the Beach put up its best round of the week by seven strokes. Junior Euna Pak led the way, shooting an even-par 72 in round three to finish tied for 33rd place.
EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Beach had a nice bounce-back performance on Wednesday at the NCAA East Lansing Regional, shooting the team's best round of the event and improving by 19 shots from yesterday's score. Led by junior Euna Pak, the Beach moved up into 16th place, playing in a regional field that included 12 nationally ranked opponents.
Pak posted the best round of the tournament for the Beach, shooting even par on Wednesday to finish 7-over for the tournament and tied for 33rd on the player leaderboard. The junior teed off from the 10th tee and would start and end her round with bogeys. In the intermittent 16 holes she was 2-under, collecting three birdies on the day.
Junior Holland Shourds had a solid turnaround in her third round to post her best score of the event. Shourds shot a 2-over 74 on Wednesday to post the second-best number of the day for Long Beach State. She started with birdies on 13 and 16 to go 2-under for her round. She would pick up another shot with a birdie on No. 6, but was one of three LBSU golfers to record a round-ending bogey at No. 9 to finish at 2-over for the round.
The other scorers for the Beach on Wednesday were seniors Haley Tygret and Cara Barker, who each posted rounds of 77. Four of the five golfers for the Beach lowered their scores from the second round, and the Beach dropped a combined 28 shots from Tuesday to Wednesday.
The six teams that advanced from the East Lansing Regional on to the NCAA Championship are No. 12 Kent State, No. 5 Arizona, No. 14 UCLA, No. 4 Stanford, No. 28 Illinois, and Indiana.
