Women’s Tennis Bounces Back With Sweep At UC Davis

Long Beach State’s depth shined once again in the win.
DAVIS, Calif. – The lower part of the lineup carried the day for Long Beach State as the Beach picked up a key road win in conference play at UC Davis, winning 4-0.
Long Beach State (12-4, 5-2 Big West) took the doubles point to establish momentum on the day. Natalia Munoz and Lalita Devarakonda continued their stellar doubles play with a 6-3 win over Shirley Hall and Nikita Pradeep, but the Aggies evened up with a 7-5 win at No. 1 by Kelsie Bryant and Sara Tsukamoto over Dominique Meyer and Wiktoria Rutkowska.
Zara Lennon and Emma Bardet would take the point at No. 3, however, winning by the same margin over Jessica Walker and Kristina Breisacher to give the Beach a first point.
Lennon continued her excellent day with a dominant win at No. 5, cruising to a 6-1, 6-0 win over Walker, and Sadaf Sadeghvaziri grabbed a third point against Bryant, winning 6-2, 6-2. Munoz then closed out the day early with her 12th singles win of the season, 6-4, 6-4 over Hall.
The trip to the central valley for LBSU continues with one more match tomorrow as Long Beach State takes on Fresno State in Fresno at 11 a.m.
