DeFalco, Siegfried Earn Big West Conference Player, Defensive Player of the Week Honors

TJ DeFalco claimed his fourth-career weekly award, while Siegfried captured the honor for the first time
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State closed out the regular season with two five-set victories over Hawai'i led by a pair of strong showings from outside hitters TJ DeFalco and Ethan Siegfried. The duo were awarded for their outstanding performances on Monday as DeFalco was named Big West Player of the Week, while Siegfried earned Big West Defensive Player of the Week.
DeFalco claimed his fourth-career weekly honor after hitting .389 on the week with 39 kills, 20 digs, nine blocks, seven assists, and six aces. On Friday night, DeFalco hit .500 (18-4-28) with nine digs, four assists, four aces and a block. He came back the next day and slammed a career-high 21 kills to go along with 11 digs for his 17th career double-double. In that match, DeFalco also posted a career-high eight blocks to lead the Beach at the net.
With DeFalco leading the offense, Siegfried came off the bench on Friday and anchored the defense with a six-kill, four-dig, six-block, two-ace effort. Following his solid performance, Siegfried earned the starting nod on Saturday and did not disappoint. The sophomore from Honolulu, Hawaii notched his first-career double-double with 16 kills and 10 digs, while tacking on four blocks.
Siegfried and DeFalco will be back in action on Friday, April 19 as the Beach plays the winner of the UCSB/CSUN match in the Big West Semifinals at 8 p.m. (PT) at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.
