Beach Men’s Golf Plays at El Macero Classic This Weekend

Long Beach State will begin the three-day El Macero Classic on Friday at El Macero Country Club. The event is being hosted by UC Davis, and will feature one round per day at the Par-72 course in Northern California.
EL MACERO, Calif. – The Long Beach State men's golf team will take part in the El Macero Classic this weekend, hosted by UC Davis. The three-day event starts on Friday and it will give the Beach its final preparation for the Big West Championship, which starts Apr. 29 in Lihue, Hawai'i.
There are 15 teams competing at the event this year, including seven nationally ranked teams. Joining the Beach and No. 86 UC Davis at the event will be No. 76 Cal State Fullerton, Fresno State, Grand Canyon, LMU, No. 53 Oregon State, Sacramento State, No. 16 SMU, No. 12 Texas Tech, Idaho, No .51 Nevada, No. 64 San Francisco, Washington State and Pacific.
Long Beach State's lineup will feature freshman Tyler Schafer, senior Joe Fryer, junior Hunter Epson, freshman Bryce Kvick and junior Hunter Reed.
The action begins with an 8 a.m. tee time on Friday, followed by 10 a.m. tee times on Saturday and 7:30 a.m. starts on Sunday. Live scoring for the event will be provided by GolfStat.
