Ashley Coleman Named Big West Pitcher Of The Week

Coleman was dominant, throwing a no-hitter against Loyola Marymount in her only start this week.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Ashley Coleman's no-hitter against Loyola Marymount led to the junior earning Big West Player of the Week honors as announced by the conference today.
Coleman continued a dominant stretch with her best start to date, stifling a good LMU team in a complete game shutout and no-hitter. Allowing just one base-runner on a walk, Coleman struck out three Lions in what was the 31st no-hitter in school history.
Over her last four starts, Coleman has allowed just six hits, giving up two runs for a 0.53 ERA while recording 17 strikeouts.
Coleman is the first player for Long Beach State recognized by the conference in the weekly awards this season. The Beach begins conference play this Friday on the road at Hawai'i.
