No. 8 Long Beach State Heads to Pepperdine for Trio of Matches at Zuma Classic

LBSU will face CSUN, No. 3 Pepperdine, and CSU Bakersfield in Malibu on Saturday
LONG BEACH, Calif. – No. 8 Long Beach State is coming off of a pair of sweeps in its season opener as the Beach travel to Malibu, Calif., for three matches on Saturday, March 2. LBSU will go up against CSUN, CSU Bakersfield and host No. 3 Pepperdine this weekend at Zuma Beach.
The Beach open action on Saturday morning against CSUN at 8 a.m., followed by a pivotal match against the host No. 3 Pepperdine at 11 a.m. LBSU will concluded the day against CSU Bakersfield at 12 noon.
Nicci Reinking and Zoi Konstantopoulou led the way for the Beach in the season opener going 2-0 on Tuesday against Cal State LA and Long Beach City College as Long Beach State swept through its first two matches of the year behind sweeps by all five pairs.
Newcomer Mari Molina and senior Megan Kruidhof played at No. 1 in the season opener to get the Beach off to a solid start, while Reinking and Konstantopoulou dominated at No. 2. Allie Loitz and Sydney Stevens were consistent at No. 3, while transfer Kendra Koelsch and Claire Newlander paired up at No. 4. Rounding out the pairs for the Beach were Tyler Spriggs and Michelle Mason who saw action at No. 5.
