
LBSU Men’s Golf Gears up for Alister MacKenzie Invitational Hosted by Cal

The first and second rounds will take place on Monday, Oct. 7 and the final round will be played on Tuesday, Oct. 8
LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Long Beach State men's golf team looks to continue their hot start to the 2019-20 season as the Beach heads north to compete in the Alister MacKenzie Invitational hosted by Cal at The Meadow Club in Fairfax, Calif., on Monday, Oct .7 and Tuesday, Oct. 8.
The Beach will tee off at 8:15 a.m. on Monday for the first and second rounds. The tournament will conclude with the final round on Tuesday at 8 a.m.
Long Beach State is coming off a pair of second place finishes in its first two outings. The Beach have been led by senior Hunter Epson, who was just named Big West Conference Men's Golfer of the Month after a pair of top five finishes including an individual title last week at the Nick Watney Invitational.
Freshman Owen Avrit has been solid for the Beach as he made his collegiate debut at the Husky Invitational and promptly finished in a four-way tie for first place.
The Beach will send Epson and Avrit, along with sophomore Bryce Kvick, freshman Trip Morris, and sophomore Tyler Schafer to compete in the 15-team tournament.
LBSU head coach Michael Wilson looks to lead his team to another solid showing, this time at his alma mater. During his time at Cal, Wilson was the 2006 winner of the Alister MacKenzie Invitational after shooting 202 for 11-under par.
