
Beach Men’s Golf Kicks Off Spring Season at Arizona Intercollegiate

Long Beach State is headed to Tucson for the Arizona Intercollegiate, running Monday and Tuesday at Sewailo Golf Club. The event will open the spring schedule for the Beach, with the first two rounds on Monday and the final round on Tuesday.
TUCSON, Ariz. -- The spring men's golf season will tee off on Monday in the desert as Long Beach State is one of 15 teams competing at the 38th Annual Arizona Intercollegiate, hosted by the University of Arizona at Sewailo Golf Club. The course is a 7,292-yard Par 71, and the teams will play 36 holes on Monday with the final round scheduled for Tuesday in Tucson.
Long Beach State will compete against a strong field of teams from across the country, serving as the only Big West representative at the event and one of three teams from California. In addition to the Beach and the host Wildcats, the other teams competing will be No. 11 Arizona State, BYU, Denver, Iowa State, LMU, New Mexico, New Mexico State, St. Mary's, No. 18 Texas A&M, Arkansas-Little Rock, UTEP, UTSA, and Washington.
LBSU's five-player lineup for the weekend will be senior Joe Fryer in the top spot, followed by junior Hunter Epson, freshman Bryce Kvick, freshman Tyler Schafer and sophomore Connor Nelson. This will be Long Beach State's first appearance in the Arizona Intercollegiate in a decade after the Beach played in the 2009 version of the event.
The action will tee off on Monday, Jan. 28 with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
