
Women's Golf Ends First Day of NCAA Regional Action

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - In their first NCAA postseason appearance since 2009, Long Beach State Women's Golf finished their first round 16-over par after carding a 304, and currently sit in 15th place.
Cara Barker led the way for Long Beach State in the first round shooting a 73, one-over par. Barker is currently tied for 33rd place. Haley Tygret shot a 76, four-over par on the day while Jennifer Yu finished one stroke behind Tygret, shooting a 77, five-over par. Holland Shourds would finish her first round with a 78. Six-over par while Maria Davis shot an 82, 10-over par.
UCLA is currently in the lead, finishing their round with a 280, eight-under par, and the Beach will have two more rounds to climb up the leaderboard.
The second round of the NCAA Regional will start at 8:00 am with Long Beach State teeing off at 9:05 a.m. The Beach is set to play alongside Pepperdine and Cal. Live scoring for the event can be followed at golfstat.com.
