Flores Named Big West Pitcher Of the Week

Long Beach, Calif. - Senior Jessica Flores was named the Big West Pitcher of the Week after two excellent appearances in the circle, including her first career no-hitter.
Flores made two appearances for the Beach in the circle against Cal Poly, starting with a complete game shutout of the Mustangs in the first. The senior struck out a pair on the way to her first career no-hitter, the third of the season for Long Beach State. Flores also made an impact at the plate in that game, scoring the only run of the game in the 1-0 victory.
In the finale, Flores made a 3.0 inning relief appearance, surrendering one hit and again striking out a pair. For the week, Flores had a 0.70 ERA and allowed just the one hit in 10 innings. On the season, Flores is now 9-1 with a 2.89 ERA.
The award is the third of the season for the LBSU pitching staff, and the first of the season for Flores.
