
Beach Tennis Falls, 4-1, at UC Santa Barbara

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The Long Beach State women's tennis team suffered a setback at UC Santa Barbara on Saturday as the Beach dropped a 4-1 contest to the Gauchos.
With the loss, Long Beach State falls to 8-7 overall and 3-2 in Big West Conference play, while UC Santa Barbara moves to 7-12 on the year and 3-1 in league action.
The Gauchos picked up the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3, then took a 3-0 advantage after holding off the Beach in singles action on courts six and one.
Trailing 3-0, Long Beach State picked up a win at No. 2 as Natalia Munoz defeated Natalie De Silveira by scores of 6-3 and 7-5.
However, UC Santa Barbara managed to collect the win with a 7-6 (7), 6-4 win on court three as Amanda Atanasson edged Maren Helgo to clinch the match.
Long Beach State looks to bounce back on Friday, April 6 at San Diego. First serve is slated for 1:30 p.m.
