Nicole Fry walked to open the bottom of the first inning, and after stealing second base, came home to score on an RBI single from Jamie Wren, giving the Beach their first lead of the game.
Lilly Robles was able to keep Monmouth (6-9) close in the circle with two scoreless innings in the second and third, but the Beach broke the game open in the fourth.
With one-out in the inning, Lombardi tripled to start the rally, followed by singles from LT Torres, Rachel Loera and Fry. Back-to-back walks to Naomi Hernandez and Lauren MacLeod brought home another run while keeping the bases loaded, and a two-run single from Taylor Rowland capped the five-run inning for the Beach.
Lombardi once again kick-started a rally in the bottom of the fifth, hitting a solo home run to start the frame. The Beach then loaded the bases, and an RBI groundout and a wild pitch allowed two more LBSU runs to cross as the Beach walked off in five innings, 9-1.
