ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The Beach finished up the Don Kirby Invitational on Saturday, with sprints and hurdles headlining day two of competition. Courtne' Davis and Raleigh Adams each had a solid day on the track for Long Beach State, reaching the finals of their events.

Davis ended up taking fifth in the 60-meter dash, running an altitude-adjusted time of 7.48 in the final. She finished just behind three-time NCAA Champion and US Olympian Ariana Washington of Oregon, who ran a converted 7.40. LBSU's Elijah McDonald ran a PR in the 60 during prelims, recording a time of 8.04.

It was a busy day for Adams, who competed in both the men's 60-meter dash and 60-meter hurdles. He ran his best time of the day in the semifinals for the 60 hurdles, breaking his own school record with an altitude-adjusted time of 8.01. He ended up placing sixth in the finals, running a respectable time of 8.15 after a tiring day of action.

McDonald also reached the semifinals of the women's 60 hurdles alongside teammate Melanee Williams. It was Williams who had a better run in the semis, establishing a new personal best in the event with a converted time of 8.70 to rank fourth in school history.

The talented 4x400-meter relay had another nice showing, moving closer to the school record with a recorded time of 3:47.20. The young quartet is comprised of freshman Shyann Reynolds, sophomore Anaya Alexander, freshman Shalee Reynolds, and sophomore Tavajia Richardson.

In the only field competition of the day, Jason Smith set a new PR in the triple jump to close out his successful weekend. On his fifth jump of the day, Smith posted a mark of 48-09.50, which added an inch-and-a-half onto his lifetime best.

Long Beach State will be back in action on Feb. 23-24 for the MPSF Championships in Seattle.
