
Long Beach State’s Ken Lindgren Aquatics Center To Host Golden Coast Conference Tournament

The GCC tournament was initially going to be hosted by Pepperdine, but due to the fires the tournament will now be held at Long Beach State.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Senior Night was last Friday for the Beach, but that will no longer be the last home game for the Long Beach State's seniors.
Long Beach State (11-11, 3-2) will now be hosting the GCC Tournament this weekend taking place from Nov. 16-18. The tournament will contain five teams, with No. 5 UC Santa Barbara (18-8, 3-1) opting to not participate since the beginning of the season. The top seed in the GCC tournament will be Pacific, followed by (2) Pepperdine (15-10, 3-1), and then (3) Long Beach State. The rest of the seeding have UC Irvine (8-15, 1-4) fourth and San Jose State fifth (6-17, 0-5).
The tournament will commence on Friday with (4) UC Irvine taking on (5) San Jose State with the winner advancing to the semifinals. The matches will continue on Saturday with (2) Pepperdine confronting (3) Long Beach State, followed by Pacific will be taking on the winner of the first game from Friday. On Sunday, the third place game will be held before and the championship with the winner of the tournament receiving an automatic bid the 2018 National Collegiate Men's Water Polo Championships.
The games are tentatively scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, and 11 a.m./1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, but are subject to change.
