Corbin Stanley Named to 2026 Cutino Award Watch List

Corbin Stanley tabbed among the nation’s best men’s water polo players of 2026.
IRVINE, Calif. – Junior Corbin Stanley has been named to the 2026 Cutino Award Watch List as announced Monday morning by USA Water Polo.
The Peter J. Cutino Award, named in honor of the late Hall of Fame coach, honors the best player in men's and women's college water polo. This watch list was created in 2022 and selects 20 athletes recognized by their outstanding play.
This season, Stanley has been an integral player for the 2026 Long Beach State team as he's second on the squad with 37 goals on an impressive .698 shooting percentage. Additionally, he has 11 assists, six drawn exclusions and six steals in 13 games.
The center earned the first Big West Player of the Week award this season after he helped lead Long Beach State to an unbeaten first weekend at the Triton Invite.
During his career, the Yorba Linda, California native has 119 goals and has earned Big West Honorable Mention honors in each of his first two seasons. He also made the conference All-Freshman Team in 2024.
Stanley is the third LBSU men's water polo player to be selected to the list. Gabi Acosta made the list in 2024, while Robert Lopez Duart earned the accolade in 2023.
No. 6 Long Beach State will be back in action in Claremont, Calif. for the Gary Troyer Tournament this Saturday. The Beach will face Redlands at 8:30 a.m. before taking on Concordia at 12:15 p.m.
