Tennis Continues Tournament Play At ITA Southwest Regionals

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State's women's tennis team is back in action Thursday, traveling south to compete in the ITA Southwest Regionals in San Diego in a tournament that runs through Sunday.

                The young squad has been busy so far in tournament play, with all eight players competing in both tournaments so far on the year.

                Junior Natalia Munoz has gotten off to a strong start, posting a 5-2 record in singles so far on the year, as has freshman Emma Bardet with an identical singles record of 5-2. Combined, the team is 29-21 overall in singles matches so far, with six of the team's eight players having won at least four matches in singles so far this season.

                In doubles, Munoz has been most often paired with freshman Dominique Meyer, and the duo has found early success, posting a 5-2 overall record at the UNLV Fall Invitational and the Beach Tennis Tournament.

                After the ITA Southwest Regionals, Long Beach State will play in one final fall tournament, competing in the CSUN Fall Tournament beginning on November 9.
