
Chian Tied For 15th After One Round At NCAA Tucson Regional

MARANA, Ariz. - Long Beach State senior Daniel Chian fired a one-under-par 71 in Monday's opening round of the NCAA Tucson Regional at The Gallery Golf Club, tying for 15th place.
Chian began the regional from the par-four first tee, recording two birdies, two bogeys and five pars to finish the front-nine at even. After making the turn onto the back-nine, the Covina, Calif. native double-bogeyed the par-four 10th to go two-over. He would pick up his third birdie on the 11th and par the next five holes before finishing with two consecutive birdies on the last two holes to finish the day at one-under.
Matt Lutz of UC Riverside sits on top of the leaderboard at six-under 66, leading the field of 75 players by one stroke over two players tied for second.
Chian is scheduled for a 9:23 a.m. (PT) start from the 10th tee and will be paired with Henry Do (T49th) of North Carolina and Scott Kim (T38th) of Siena College.
