
Men’s Golf One Stroke Off Lead After Two Rounds

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Long Beach State Men's Golf is locked in a tight battle at the top of the leaderboard after two rounds at the Ram Masters Invitational hosted by Colorado State.
Day One Results
Colorado State is hosting and leading the tournament by one stroke ahead of Long Beach State at even par. After a first round at three-over par, the Beach shot two-under as a team in the second round to move into a tight battle with the Rams and Utah Tech.
Steen Zeman, playing as an individual, leads the Long Beach State contingent in a tie for third place after a pair of eagles, both on hole one at Fort Collins Country Club, shooting a 69 and then a 68 on the Par 70 course.
Leading the way for the lineup Thursday was Jack Cantlay, who had back-to-back rounds of 69 to finish the day two-under par in a tie for 7th place. One stroke back of that was Jaden Huggins in his return to regular action. Huggins had a very consistent day, shooting back-to-back even par 70s to also end the day in the Top 10.
Alejandro de Castro Piera rebounded from a 73 in the first round with a 69 in the second round to sit in a tie for 16th, same as Krishnav Chopraa who ended the day +2 with two straight scores of 71. That second 71 was the second round drop score, highlighting the strength of the day for Long Beach State as Norwin Gohm had a 70 in the second round after a first round 75.
