LBSU Wins Third Consecutive Black & Blue Rivalry Title

IRVINE, Calif. - Long Beach State came away with its third consecutive Black & Blue Rivalry title on Monday morning defeating UC Irvine by two points at Strawberry Farms Golf Club.
LBSU posted a total of 3.5 points in the match play event as the Anteaters came away with 1.5 points.
Senior Kassidy Teare carded a 6&4 victory over Breanne Jones, while redshirt sophomore Savannah Knox won 1up over Camille Wagg and sophomore Jennifer Yu won 4&3 over Samantha Chan.
Freshman Haley Tygret completed her match with Kelsey Kawaguchi with a tie and senior Janelle Sua fell to Joy Kim at 4&3.
The 49ers return to action this Thursday as the Beach will send three individuals (Tygret, Felicia Taverrite and Breann Fox) to compete at the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational in St. George, Utah.
