Long Beach, Calif. -

Engaging and energizing Beach Athletics fans is a major priority for Long Beach State. To achieve this goal, Long Beach State Athletics has announced the creation of the Beach Fan Council, a group that will provide important feedback to improve the overall fan experience for the Long Beach State faithful.

The council will be composed of alumni, students, and friends of Long Beach State. It will have approximately 20 members who will serve a voluntary two-year term and convene quarterly to discuss the Long Beach State fan experience. The Beach Fan Council's focus will include, but is not limited to:

  • The Beach fan experience--before, during and after games
  • Enhanced athletic department communication with fans
  • Customer service
  • Ticketing
  • Marketing Initiatives
  • Donor support

"Our goal to understand how Long Beach State Athletics can best serve our fans and students," said Rob Clark, Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Relations. "There is no better way than to engage our fans to share their opinions on how we can create an excellent fan experience that ranks among the best in the country."

All fans are encouraged to apply by going to www.longbeachstate.com/fancouncil. The Beach Fan Council is expected to be formed in March with the initial meeting taking place in April.
