Dirt vs. Bags Series This Weekend at Blair Field

LONG BEACH, Calif. - The annual Dirt vs. Bags series will be held this weekend at Blair Field, with three games Friday-Sunday that will showcase the 2017 Dirtbags. Admission is free to all fans, providing a great chance to see the team up close before the regular season opener, Feb. 17, vs. Oklahoma.
The series will run like a standard home series for Long Beach State, with the opening game on Friday night at 6 p.m., then games Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. The roster has been divided into two teams: "Dirt" and "Bags".
Elijah Villalobos will start for Team Dirt on Friday, opposed by Dylan Spacke for Team Bags. In Saturday's matchup, returning Big West Pitcher of the Year Darren McCaughan gets the ball for Team Dirt against incoming junior AJ Jones. The series finale will see freshman Juan Castro (Dirt) face off against senior starter Dave Smith.
