
LBSU Takes Eighth Place At Ron Moore Intercollegiate

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. - Long Beach State posted a 288 in Sunday's final round of the Ron Moore Intercollegiate at Highlands Ranch Golf Club to finish in eighth-place.
LBSU's 288 was their lowest score of the tournament, improving by nine shots from Saturday's second round. The 49ers completed the three-day tournament at 17-over 881.
Pepperdine captured the team title with a 10-under 854 as the Waves won by four shots over tournament host Denver (-6) in second and 17 strokes over Kentucky (+7) in third.
Jennifer Yu was the top player for the 49ers, tying for 27th at 4-over 220. Yu carded a final round score of 75 that was highlighted by two birdies, 11 pars and five bogeys.
Maria Davis and Haley Tygret recorded their best rounds of the tournament with a 1-under 71, tying for 34th and 44th respectively. Davis finished the tournament at 5-over, while Tygret finished at 8-over.
Breann Fox shot a 77 to tie for 50th at 9-over, while Holland Shourds carded a low round 71 to tie for 62nd at 12-over.
Courtney Vogel and Sachi Hamada, playing as individuals, tied for 39th and 62nd respectively. Vogel posted a 75 for a 6-over, while Hamada show a low 75 for a 12-over.
The Pioneers' Sophie Newlove won individual medalist at 6-under 210, winning by two shots over the Waves' Hira Naveed (-4).
The 49ers return to action on Oct. 23 for the three-day Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown hosted by UNLV at Boulder Creek Golf Club.
