LBSU Completes Day One At Johnie Imes Invitational

COLUMBIA, Mo. - After two rounds of play at the Johnie Imes Invitational, the Long Beach State women's golf team sits in 13th place at The Club at Old Hawthorne.
Playing at a par-72 at 6,204-yards, LBSU posted an opening round score of 295 to finish in eighth. The 49ers came back in the second round with a 307 to finish day one at 26-over-par 602.
Tournament host Missouri leads the field of 15 teams with a 2-under 574 as the Tigers hold a five-shot lead over second-place Fresno State (+3) and seven shots over Kennesaw State (+5) in third.
Freshman Maria Davis was the top player for the 49ers, tying for 24th at 3-under 147 after carding rounds of 71 and 76.
Sophomore Haley Tygret finished two shots behind, tying for 33rd at 5-over (73-76), followed by Jennifer Yu at 7-over (75-76) tying for 44th and freshman Holland Shourds tied for 66th at 11-over (76-79).
Sophomore Breann Fox is tied for 74th at 13-over (78-79).
Three players are tied for the lead at 6-under 138, leading the field of 81 players by one shot.
Final round play concludes on Tuesday, with a 6:30 a.m. (PT)/8:30 a.m. (MT) shotgun start. LBSU will be paired with Arkansas and North Texas.
