LBSU Closes Out Johnie Imes Invitational In 14th

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Long Beach State posted a 302 in Tuesday's final round of the Johnie Imes Invitational, finishing in 14th place at The Club at Old Hawthorne.
LBSU completed the two-day, 54-hole tournament at 40-over-par 904.
Tournament host Missouri captured the team title with an even-864 score, leading the 15-team field by three strokes over second-place Fresno State (+3) and 11 shots over FIU (+11) in third.
Sophomore Haley Tygret led the way for the 49ers, tying for 30th at 6-over 222 after shooting a final round 73.
Freshman Maria Davis shot a 77 finishing two shots behind at 8-under to tie for 39th, followed by sophomore Jennifer Yu tied for 60th at 13-over after carding a 78.
Sophomore Breann Fox posted a 74, tying for 63rd at 15-over, while freshman Holland Shourds recorded an 81 to finish in 73rd at 20-over.
Medy Thavong of Kennesaw State captured individual medalist with a 5-under 211, winning by two shots over four players tied for second at 3-under.
The 49ers return to action on Oct. 7-9, traveling to Colorado for the Ron Moore Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Denver.
