Malibu, Calif. - Senior Maeva Razakasoa put up a good fight on day two of the Oracle ITA Masters at Pepperdine University, but was knocked out of the competition by the No. 3 seed in the women's singles draw. North Carolina's Sara Daavetilla earned a 6-2, 6-2 win over Razakasoa on Friday morning, withstanding strong resistance from the Beach's top singles player.

"It was a top Division I tennis match and was a battle to the end," said LBSU head coach Jenny Hilt-Costello. "The score does not indicate how close Maeva was to being on the winning side of this match."

This is the second year of competition for the Oracle ITA Masters, which is open to each conference's Player of the Year as well as other select invitees. Razakasoa is the first Long Beach State player to compete in the event.

Next on the schedule is the 2016 ITA Southwest Regionals, which take place Oct. 20-24 in San Diego. The next full team competition of the fall season is Nov. 11-13 at the CSUN Tournament in Northridge.
