LONG BEACH - Long Beach State men's volleyball will host the 2015 Elite Technical Training Camp at the Walter Pyramid from July 27-29.
The Elite Technical Training Camp is open to any and all boys & girls in grades 8-12. Athletes will be broken into groups based on age, gender and skill level.
The camp is directed to raise each athlete's volleyball IQ. Athletes will learn, practice and understand the mechanics of each skill and technique. Every athlete will also have the opportunity to learn about video breakdown and how to get recruited, as well as get a tour of the LBSU volleyball locker rooms, strength & conditioning complex and volleyball offices.
The camp will be run by Long Beach State head coach Alan Knipe. Knipe has led the Beach to two NCAA Final Fours and 11 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournaments, including four appearances in the championship match. He has mentored two AVCA National Players of the Year, 17 AVCA All-Americans, 13 Volleyball Magazine All-Americans and 40 All-MPSF selections. In addition, Knipe spent four years as the United States Men's Volleyball National Team Head Coach and guided the U.S. to the quarterfinals of the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
