Beach Track & Field Wraps Up Mt. SAC Relays

WALNUT, Calif. - Long Beach State track & field finished up the Mt. SAC Relays today in Walnut, Calif. with the women's 4x100m Relay squad running the fastest time in that event this season.
Jasmine Askew, Madison Carney, Ashleigh Chambers and Kayla Goosby made up the team who ran a 45.90, which tops the season. The last time this crew ran in this order was at the California Collegiate Invitational where they ran a 46.41.
Willie Alexander was flirting with his lifetime best in the long jump today. Alexander earned a mark of 25-01.25, which fell just short of his best of 25-02.
Goosby also falls under that category after running .03 seconds away from her lifetime best in the 100m. She ran a time of 11.79 in the meet, which is .03 seconds away from her best of 11.76.
Ryan Sanders had a mark of 50-11.50 in the long jump to finish 5th in the meet. Devin Hickey competed in the 110m hurdles and finished with a time of 14.64.
Taylor Lorack and Cody Smith both participated in the 400m hurdles. Lorack finished with a time of 1:03.13 while Smith placed 10th with his time of 53.18.
Cameron Glasgow and Michael Perez-Rogers both competed in the 400m, both finishing in the top 15 out of 61 participants. Glasgow finished in 5th with his time of 46.91, and Perez-Rogers took 12th with his time of 47.60.
Glasgow also took part in the 200m and finished with a time of 21.35.
The Beach continues the weekend with the second day of the Beach Invitational tomorrow, April, 18 at Cerritos College.
