LBSU Completes Day Two At Jack Kramer Collegiate Tennis Tournament

Rolling Hills Estates, Calif. - After another long day of tennis Friday, Long Beach State reached the midway point of the Jack Kramer Collegiate tournament. Julie Gerard closed the day on a high note with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Mazy Watrous from UC Irvine, advancing to the 4th Round of the consolation bracket.

Earlier in the day, Laura Eales and Ebba Unden earned three-set singles victories. Eales outlasted Alexandra Letzt from USC, 6-2, 5-7, 10-6 and Unden won a nail-biter over Ohio State's Olivia Sneed, 6-2, 6-7 (5), 11-9. Maeva Razakasoa put up a strong fight against Pepperdine's Matea Cutura, but came up short in a 6-4, 7-6 (12-10) defeat.

In doubles, the team of Eales/Thompson scored Long Beach's lone pairs win of the day, topping Noble/Bykova from Fresno State in a close match, 8-7 (4).

Action resumes Saturday morning at Jack Kramer Tennis Club.
