Long Beach State Sweeps Lewis in Fall Scrimmage

LONG BEACH - The Long Beach State men's volleyball team swept Lewis, 25-8, 25-15, 26-24, in a fall exhibition match at the Walter Pyramid Friday afternoon.
The Black & Gold finished with 12 aces, including seven in the opening set. Freshman Josh Tuaniga led the way with three, while four other 49ers finished with two each.
Freshman TJ DeFalco paced the Beach attack with a match-high 10 kills. Classmate Kyle Ensing added seven kills, despite playing in only the third set. Senior Cody Martin chipped in six kills and five digs. Junior Andrew Sato also totaled seven digs.
Mitch Perinar led the Flyers with nine kills and seven digs.
Both Long Beach State and Lewis return to action tomorrow with LBSU's final fall tournament at the Gold Mine and East Gym. Matches will be held throughout the day, starting at 9 a.m. Admission is free, but parking permits are required on campus at all times. Permits can be purchased for $5 at the yellow dispensers.
