
Beach Tennis Concludes Action At CSUN Tournament

Northridge, Calif. - Beach Tennis concluded play at the CSUN Tournament on Sunday with Ella Monsey leading the way in the final match of Flight B singles. The sophomore came up short to Big West rival Mari Taslagyan of CSUN, falling 7-5, 6-4 in the championship match.
In the third-place match in Flight B, Antonella Santeusanio dropped a close 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 decision to CSUN's Jessica Warren. In the Flight A consolation bracket, Georgie Sanders took on Iamin Rosa of South Dakota State, suffering a 7-6 (5), 6-3 defeat.
"It was a very productive tournament for us being able to focus on just three players," said LBSU head coach Jenny Hilt-Costello. "Whether we took a win or a loss this weekend, we took big steps forward in improving our level of play."
Taking the win in doubles action was the team of Sanders and Santeusanio, defeating Chang/Nosenko from CSUN, 8-4.
Long Beach State tennis resumes action Nov. 5-8 as the 49ers travel to Pacific Palisades, Calif. for the Jack Cramer Collegiate.
