Ella Monsey Reaches Flight B Finals At CSUN Tournament

Northridge, Calif. - With a win in Saturday's semifinals, Long Beach State sophomore Ella Monsey advanced to the finals in the Flight B singles bracket at this weekend's CSUN Tournament. Monsey defeated Jessica Warren on her home turf, 6-4, 6-4, and will take on another Matador on Sunday when she faces Mari Taslagyan in the 10 a.m. championship match.
LBSU teammate Antonella Santeusanio fell short of meeting Monsey in the Flight B finals, losing 6-0, 6-4 against Taslagyan in the opposite semifinal. In the consolation bracket of Flight A singles, Georgie Sanders fell 2-6, 6-0, 7-5 against Lidia Dukic from Montana, rounding out Saturday's singles action for the Beach.
On the doubles side, Monsey and Santeusanio fell 8-3 against CSUN's team of Alcon and Kim and Sanders/Santeusanio dropped an 8-2 decision against Davies/Rosa from San Diego State.
