
Razakasoa Drops Match But Gains Invite To Qualifying Rounds

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. - Long Beach State tennis sophomore Maeva Razakasoa will be moving on to the Qualifying Rounds of the ITA All-American Tournament despite a loss in the Pre-Qualifying quarterfinals today.
Razakasoa received an at-large invitation from the ITA after pulling off the upset to open the tournament on Saturday. In today's match, she faced Ole Miss's Mai El Kamash but fell 7-6 (8-6), 6-4 in the last round of Pre-Qualifying.
The Qualifying Rounds begin on Tuesday with Razakasoa facing seventh-seeded Desirae Krawczyk from Arizona State. Krawczyk was ranked as the No. 28 singles player in the ITA's preseason rankings. The rest of the Long Beach State tennis team will return to action next weekend with its first home event of the year. The Beach Tennis Tournament will take place from Oct. 3-5 at the Rhodes Tennis Center.
