
Razakasoa Ends Run At ITA All-American

WESTWOOD, Calif. - Long Beach State tennis sophomore Maeva Razakasoa's run through the ITA All-American Tournament came to an end on Wednesday with a hard fought 6-3, 6-4 loss to Lexi Borr of Boston College. Razakasoa finished the tournament with a 3-3 record through the Pre-Qualifying and Qualifying rounds.
To open the Qualifying Rounds on Tuesday, Razakasoa fell in the first round of the Qualifying Rounds at the ITA All-American Tournament to 27th-ranked singles player Desire Krawczyk of Arizona State, but defeated Boston College's Jessica Wacniki to advance in the back draw.
After dropping the morning match 6-4, 6-2 to a tough opponent, Razakasoa rebounded with a 7-6 (7-0), 6-3 win over Wacniki to advance in the back draw.
Razakasoa had a solid week at the ITA All-American Tournament, which she opened with an upset of 109th-ranked singles player Alyssa Smith of Duke. After advancing to the quarterfinals of the Pre-Qualifying Rounds and dropping a close match to Mai El Kamash, Razakasoa was one of three at-large invites to the Qualifying Rounds.
Beach tennis is in action this weekend at the Rhodes Tennis Center when it hosts the Beach Tennis Tournament from Friday-Sunday.
