Erin Jones-Wesley Named Big West Pitcher Of The Week

Long Beach, Calif. - Long Beach State dodged the rains long enough this weekend to allow Erin Jones-Wesley to set another mark, tying a Big West record with her 14th career Big West Pitcher of the Week honor.
Jones-Wesley took the circle against Nevada in one of two games for the 49ers Thursday, and pitched a complete game shutout against the Wolf Pack scattering three hits while striking out five and collecting her fifth win of the season.
With the award, Jones-Wesley tied another 49er great, Brooke Turner, with her 14th Big West Pitcher of the Week award. It is the first Pitcher of the Week award of the season for Long Beach State, and the second weekly honor overall, as Ashley Holmes was a Player of the Week award winner on Feb. 17 following week two of action.
