Beach Tennis Wraps Up Fall At ITA Southwest Regionals

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The fall season came to an end for Beach Tennis on Saturday at the ITA Southwest Regionals. Ebba Unden advanced to the quarterfinals of the back draw and the Beach went a combined 3-1 in added singles matches.
Unden began the day with a three-set win in the fourth round of the back draw in the first of two matches that went the distance. After the 6-1, 2-6, 13-11 win in the fourth round, she fell 4-6, 6-3, 10-7 in the quarterfinals.
Karolina Rozenberg was also still competing in the back draw on Saturday but dropped a 6-0, 7-6 (7-4) decision in the fourth round. Rozenberg also had a main draw match in the doubles bracket with teammate Julie Gerard. The duo lost to a USC pair 8-2 in the round of 16.
Gerard was also one of four Beach players to pick up a singles match on Saturday but fell in three sets. Hayley Thompson had a dominating win in her added match with a 6-0, 6-1 decision. Laura Eales won 6-4, 6-4 and Maeva Razakasoa won 6-2, 6-1 just a day after bpwing out of the singles main draw.
The Beach gets back into action in January with a home tournament prior to the traditional spring season.
