The 1998 PGA Player of the Year, O'Meara won 16 PGA Tournaments and two majors, capturing both a Masters and British Open championship as part of a lengthy and successful career.
An All-American during his time at Long Beach State, O'Meara went on to win the 1979 US Amateur Championship before joining the PGA in 1980. Once he turned pro, O'Meara went on to compete on five Ryder Cup teams, win four European Tour wins as well as his 16 PGA wins, and finished in the Top 5 in all four majors over his career.
"It means the world to me," O'Meara told the Golf Channel, regarding his induction. "I guess it was just a matter of time of waiting. Now that it's come true, it's really a dream come true for me. Nothing could put more icing on the cake for myself or my career than to have this moment come to fruition."
