HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. - Long Beach State recorded a 297 in Sunday's final round of the Ron Moore Intercollegiate at Highlands Ranch Golf Course to finish in third place.
LBSU held onto third for the third straight day as the 49ers completed three-day, 54-hole tournament at 24-over-par 888. LBSU finished four shot behind second-place Kansas (+20) and 11 strokes behind team champion Kansas State (+13).
Junior Kassidy Teare posted a final round 77 to fall from first to fourth, finishing at 3-over 219. Teare recorded only one birdie for the round, while collecting four bogeys and one double-bogey.
Senior Chaewon Park shot a 72 to move up from ninth to tie for fifth, finishing one shot behind Teare at 4-over.
Junior Shawnee Martinez carded a 79 to fall from seventh to tie for 12th at 9-over, while fellow classmate Janelle Sua recorded her best round of the tournament with a 72 to move up the standings from 45th to tie for 26th at 14-over.
Redshirt freshman Savannah Knox posted her best round of the tournament, shooting a 76 to tie for 34th at 15-over.
Freshman Felicia Taverrite and sophomore Sachi Hamada, playing as individuals, tied for 54th and 59th respectively. Taverrite carded an 80 to finish at 22-over, while Hamada shot an 81 at 24-over.
Olivia Eliasson of Kansas State won individual medalist honors with a 3-under 213, winning by two shots.
The 49ers return to action Oct. 26-28, traveling to the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown for the last tournament of the fall season.
