MANAKIN-SABOT, Va. - Senior Raymond Ho shot an even-72 in Tuesday's final round of the VCU Shootout at the Hermitage Country Club in Manakin-Sabot, Va., tying for second.
Ho finished the two-day, 54-hole tournament with a 2-under 214, finishing just four shots behind individual medalists Sean Bosdosh of Maryland (-4).
The Cerritos native recorded two birdies and the two bogeys on the front-nine and made 11 consecutive pars that started from the eighth hole through the 18th.
Long Beach State recorded another score of 296 to move up in the standings by one spot to finish in third. LBSU turned in a 296 in the first and second rounds on Monday.
The 49ers completed the tournament at 24-over 888, finishing one stroke behind second-place Wichita State (+23) and 10 shots behind team champion Virginia Tech (+14). Tournament host VCU finished in eighth (+56).
Freshman Kevin Lee recorded his best round of the tournament with a 72 to move up in the standings to move up from 31st to tie for 17th. Lee finished with an 8-over 224.
Freshman Daniel Chian shot a 79 to tie for 24th with an 11-over, while senior Philip Chian shot a 74, finishing just one stroke behind with a 12-over.
Sophomore JJ Holen carded a 78, tying for 38th (+16)
LBSU returns to action Oct. 22-23, traveling to Simi Valley for the Bill Cullum Invitational hosted by Cal State Northridge.
