Cya Neal chosen as All-Region team member

Neal hit .327 with eight RBI in her first season with the 49ers.

Long Beach, Calif. - Long Beach State junior Cya Neal has been named to the 2012 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division I All-West Region Second Team.

Neal (Whittier, Calif. / Mt. SAC) was named to the all-region team a day after earning first-team All-Big West honors at second base. Neal, in her first season at LBSU, hit .327 with eight RBI and three stolen base. The junior finished the regular season seventh in the Big West Conference in hitting and eighth in hits (51). She also played nearly flawless defense committing just five errors on the season.

Neal is the 33rd 49er in the program's history to be named to the all-region team. Erin Jones-Wesley was a second-team pick last season.
