LOS ANGELES - Erin Jones-Wesley pitched her 17th complete game of the season, while Leilani Tupua-Tautalatasi and Nalani St. Germain had two RBI apiece to lead Long Beach State to a 5-2 win at Loyola Marymount on Wednesday.

Jones-Wesley (12-9) picked up her fourth win in her last five decisions. She scattered six hits while striking out three and walking just one.

LBSU (12-18) got hits from six different players, while five 49ers scored runs.

The 49ers took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first without the benefit of a hit. Leilani Tupua-Tautalatasi was hit by a pitch to lead off the game. After stealing second, she advanced to third on an error and scored on a sacrifice fly by Nalani St. Germain.

LBSU added four runs in the top of the second inning. After a pair of hits and a walk, Tupua-Tautalatasi delivered a one-out, two-RBI, single to right field to make it 3-0. Cya Neal added a RBI single to right, before St. Germain picked up her second RBI of the game with a single up the middle to give LBSU a 5-0 lead.

Sam Fischer got one run back for the Lions when she launched her 14th home run of the season deep to left field in bottom of the fourth.

The Lions (20-11) cut the lead to 5-2 in the bottom of the fifth with back-to-back doubles by Kylie Ahlo and Samantha Nelson, but Jones-Wesley left Fischer standing in the on-deck circle when she got Sterling Shuster to ground out to third baseman Hannah De Gaetano.

Long Beach State returns to action next weekend (March 31-April 1) when it opens Big West Conference action at UC Santa Barbara.
