No. 14 Stanford hands 49ers 3-0 loss

CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. - Erin Jones-Wesley pitched a complete game allowing just three runs but it wasn't enough as the 49ers dropped a 3-0 decision to No. 14 Stanford at the Cathedral City Classic on Saturday night.
Jones-Wesley (6-3) gave up a run in the first inning and then held the Cardinal scoreless until they added two runs in the top of the sixth inning.
Long Beach State (6-7) could muster just three hits. Freshman Shayna Kimbrough, sophomore Hannah De Gaetano, and junior Ashlynn Booker all went 1-for-3 at the plate.
Ashley Chinn and Melisa Koutz led Stanford with two hits and an RBI apiece.
