
Dallara takes singles title at Fullerton Invitational

Fullerton, Calif. - Holding down all of the semifinal positions entering Sunday, Long Beach State played five total matches to decide the singles championship at the Fullerton Invitational as well as settiing up the doubles final, which will be played on Monday.
Since Long Beach State held all four doubles pairs in the semifinals, the 49ers elected to hold the finals at the Rhodes Tennis Center at 2:45 p.m on Monday. That match will feature Deborah Armstrong and Anais Dallar facing Klaudia Malenovska and Rachel Manasse. Armstrong/Dallara beat Sarah Cantlay and Julie Luzar from LBSU 8-4 in a semifinal match. Malenovska/Manasse outlasted Jaklin Alawi and Anna Jeczmionka in the other semifinal in a nice 9-7 match.
In singles, Dallara defeated Luzar in the semifinals 6-2, 6-0 to reach the finals in the quick match of the day. In the other semifinal, Malenovska won a three-set battle with Alawi 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 to reach the finals. In the singles finals, Dallara defeated Malenovska 6-3, 6-0 to claim her first singles title in her collegiate career.
